So, it’s been a busy month. We had to prepare for our survey inspection of the boat for the insurance company. All went well. We hauled Bikini Bottom out of the water again after 1 year. Everything looked good and the 5 coats of Odyssey 60 bottom paint and Propspeed are holding up well. We upgraded our camera as you can tell by this set … Continue reading Key West….finally get to relax!
As you can see, not all life at sea is fun and days at the dog park. Somebody has to pay bills for the dock rent and dog chow. So, until the blog goes viral, our lottery tickets become all winners, or corporate sponsors pay us to go sailing…. Mommy Dog has to stroke the keyboard at her remote job. A digital nomad is definitely … Continue reading From the Archives: “SHH! I’m trying to use the phone!”
Captain Adam has decided to take a remote job for Fenix Auto Parts starting January 3rd. We are still going to keep sailing but, we will now have 2 incomes. We are still waiting for Starlink 🛰to be available for marine applications Elon! ⛵ So, as the holiday🎄 season is here….time for another adventure. We decided to move to a marina in Key West because … Continue reading “Merry Christmas you filthy animal!”
“So, how is your trip to Key West going?”🏖 “We stopped some illegal lobster 🦞 fishing. Got attacked by a wayward dinghy at 4 am. A waterspout🌪dropped out of the sky and chased everyone in the mooring field. And, we managed to get dinner and drinks at Sloppy Joe’s. How are you doing? ” 🐬 So, here are our videos that we posted to Twitter … Continue reading “Hopefully somebody doesn’t drop a house on you!”
Okay, it has been a while since the last blog post. There has been a lot going on…..Let’s catch up, we hate it when they leave the good guy hanging on the side of a building and you have to watch 12 minutes of commercials to review that the hero is still stuck on the building for another week! Hope this keeps you interested for … Continue reading “Now is no time to think of what you do not have. Think of what you can do with that there is”.

We basically gutted the whole boat and started from scratch. New engines, saildrives, props, rope cutters, bottom paint, Propspeed, though hulls, plumbing, raw water hoses, strainers, custom engine mounts from 6061 aluminum flat stock, and the … Continue reading Do you do all of your own work?
We did it! 2 new engines, 2 saildrives, 2 props, 2 rope cutters, auto pilot bracket, adjusted the steering, 4 coats of Odyssey 60 bottom paint, Glidecoat all over the whole boat, lots of electrical work, and no sleep for 6 weeks straight. We sail south after sea trials and making sure there are no other leaks, squeeks, creaks, or bleeps! Notice the other Manta … Continue reading Set Sail!
So, just a quick update. Time is money at the boatyard, so this post is brief… The new engines are ready to go in. Everything has been painted, cleaned, ceramic coated, and polished. We have waited, waited some more, waited again, and again, while continuing to wait, only to wait again….finally to only be delayed by Covid-19 🦠, a container ship 🚢 stuck in the Suez Canal, and…..then we stalked, tracked, calculated, surmised, and timed the arrival of The NYK Meteor to it’s port. Today is a grand, delightful, wonderful, happy, joyous, triumph, marvelous, spectacular day! The container … Continue reading “Many’s the long night I’ve dreamed of cheese -toasted, mostly”
